Universal Rocks Crawler Courses are engineered from a Proprietary High-Performance Shell—an industrial-grade polymer designed for extreme impact resistance and flexibility. To achieve industry-leading traction, we embed natural crushed rock and minerals directly into the surface, giving each course the authentic texture and color variation of real stone. This is the same proven "Texas-Tough" technology used in our commercial-grade zoo and landscape exhibits, ensuring your course can withstand years of repeated use.
Setup is as simple as Unroll and Drive.
The "Kick-Out" Setup: Simply unroll the course on any flat surface—a garage floor, driveway, or backyard. The proprietary shell features a natural "memory" that helps it lay flat and stay in place immediately.
- Infinite Topography: To create a professional 3D course, simply place household items like buckets, boxes, or wooden blocks underneath the shell. This allows you to create custom peaks, overhangs, and off-camber sections in seconds.
- Pro-Level Mounting: For permanent builds, you can screw the terrain directly into a wooden frame or plywood. When you're finished, the material's elasticity helps conceal screw holes, allowing you to "Remix" your mountain layout over and over.
Absolutely. Our proprietary technical shell is engineered to withstand sun, rain, ice, and snow—just like all Universal Rocks professional-grade products.
- Outdoors: The terrain is 100% UV-stable and weatherproof. It's perfect for year-round backyard courses on grass, dirt, or gravel where drainage isn't an issue.
- Indoors: Use them for "base camp" sessions in your garage, basement, or even on a kitchen counter.
- A Pro-Tip for "Wet" Runs: Because we mold from real stone, the shell is naturally permeable (water can seep through microscopic pinholes). If you are simulating "wet" trail conditions or water crossings indoors, we recommend placing a waterproof liner or tray underneath to protect your floors.
Yes! Every Moab Crawler Course is designed to be modular. You can place multiple sections side-by-side, end-to-end, or even layered on top of each other to create larger, more complex mountain ranges.
- The Modular Advantage: Start with an XS for your desktop and grow your course over time—or go big from the start with the 18-foot XL.
- Seamless Integration: While the courses do not "snap" together, they are designed to be easily joined. You can simply overlap the edges to create a continuous trail or screw them into a shared wooden frame for a permanent, high-traction build.
- The Pro Finish: For a truly seamless look, use our Universal Rocks Touch-Up Kit. You can hide seams and hardware using our specialized adhesive and "Magic Rock Dust" to blend multiple sections into one massive, unbroken landscape.
Orders are processed and fulfilled in the sequence they are received. Once your order is ready for the trail, you will receive a shipping confirmation and tracking number immediately.
- Standard Shipping (XS, S, Mammoth S, M, L): These units ship via standard ground and include Free Shipping within the continental United States.
- Freight Delivery (Moab XL): Due to its 121 lb. weight, the Moab XL ships on a 9-foot pallet via Freight. We recommend ensuring your delivery location can accommodate a pallet of this size.
- Lead Times: Standard production lead times are typically 3–4 weeks.
We offer five modular sizes designed to fit everything from a desktop to a full-scale backyard mountain range.
- XS (4' x 2')
- Small (4' x 4')
- Medium (8' x 4')
- Large (7.5' x 7.5')
- XL (18' x 8')
Yes. Our Crawler Courses are engineered to handle everything from 1/24 micro-crawlers to heavy 1/10 and even 1/6 scale trail rigs.
- Authentic Grip: Our Proprietary Technical Shell features embedded natural minerals that provide "pro-level" tire bite—mimicking the high-traction surface of real Moab red rock.
- Technical Challenges: Every course is molded with scale-accurate ledges, ridges, and deep crevices designed to test your rig's approach angles and vertical limits.
- Extreme Durability: Unlike fragile vacuum-formed plastic, our industrial-grade polymer can withstand the high-torque maneuvers of heavy 1/10 scale rigs without cracking or deforming. As seen in our testing, these courses are even strong enough to be driven over by a full-size vehicle.
To achieve industry-leading realism, we use natural crushed rock and minerals directly from the source. Because we use real minerals rather than just flat paint, you may notice some residual color transfer on your hands or clothing during the initial setup. This is completely safe, non-hazardous, and washes off easily with soap and water. Once the terrain is situated and rinsed or settled, this transfer will stop.
Our proprietary shell is designed to be ultra-lightweight and flexible. On high-friction surfaces like grass, dirt, or carpet, the terrain stays planted. On slick surfaces like tile or hardwood, we recommend placing the terrain on a rug, rubber mat, or even a piece of scrap carpet. For permanent builds, the material is designed to be screwed directly into a wooden frame for maximum stability during high-torque 1/10 scale climbs.
Yes. Because the Moab XL is a massive 18' x 8' section weighing 121 lbs, it ships rolled on a 9-foot pallet via Freight. You will need to ensure your delivery location (residential or commercial) can accommodate a full-size freight truck. We recommend having at least two people available to assist with moving the roll once it is offloaded from the pallet.
Absolutely. Our terrain is engineered with the same industrial-grade polymer used in professional zoo and commercial landscape exhibits. It is 100% UV-stable and built to withstand extreme temperature swings—from Texas heat to sub-zero winter freezes. It will not crack, rot, or degrade, making it the perfect foundation for a year-round outdoor RC park.
